The Rolling Stones prepared for the start of the 2013 leg of the ’50 and Counting’ tour with an intimate gig at the Echoplex Club in Echo Park on Saturday night.
The show was announced at 12:30pm that afternoon and tickets went on sale 30 minutes later but fans who queued were disappointed by the ballot system.
Regardless of when fans arrived at the El Rey Theatre to buy the $20 ticket they were made to wait for hours and then go in the draw for tickets to the 300 capacity club. One friends of the Stones were taken care of the number of real fans who managed to get a ticket to the show were in the minority.
Those who did got to see a few surprises including the addition of ‘Little Queenie’ back in the set for the first time in 15 years.
