The Rolling Stones have won the Top Boxscore Award at the 11th annual Billboard Touring Awards.
The awards over the last few years have normally been dominated by veteran artists like U2, Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen but, with most of them off the road in 2014, it was the newer artists like One Direction who dominated.
The only other veteran artist to be named in a competed category was Billy Joel and Citi at Madison Square Garden for the Concert and Marketing Promotion Award. Lionel Richie was chosen outside of the awards structure for the Legend of Live.
The Rolling Stones’ award was for the top box office for a single run of shows, February 26, March 4 and March 6 at the Tokyo Dome.
