One of Australia’s most successful exports Air Supply will head to New York in November for an appearance on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’, backed by The Roots.

Air Supply will be pulling out one of their classic ballads for the show but it could sound different with neo-soul hip-hop group The Roots supplying the music.

The Roots Late Night band is the permanent backing band for the Jimmy Fallon Late Night show.

Air Supply will be talking up a new album ‘Mumbo Jumbo’, their first studio album in over 8 years.

Australia pays little attention to Air Supply even though they are one of the most successful acts the country has ever produced.

Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell met in May 1975 on the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar. The first Air Supply single ‘Love and Other Bruises’ reached no. 6 on the Australian chart. That song caught the ear of Clive Davis who signed them to Arista in the USA. The song then reached no. 3 in America. The big one though was ‘All Out Of Love’. It topped the American chart in 1980.

Air Supply will appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon with The Roots on November 3.
