UK ska bands The Beat and The Selecter have teamed for an Australian tour in January 2018. The confusion is in working out which one is which.

There are actually two bands calling themselves The Beat and two called The Selecter in the UK.

The BeatIn 2016 Ranking Roger’s The Beat released the new album ‘Bounce’. That is The Beat coming to Australia. That is not to be confused with the other one, The English Beat starring Dave Wakeling. Wakeling’s The English Beat will release the new album ‘Here We Go Love’ soon.

There are also two bands called The Selecter, one fronted by Pauline Black and one by Neol Davies. The Pauline Black version will tour Australia and New Zealand in 2018.
