Acclaimed husky Melbourne punks The Smith Street Band announce their follow-up and a national tour.
Last year the band released their debut album No One Gets Lost Anymore to almost universal love, from Beat to triplej to Bombshell dubbing it the Best Album of 2011.
They toured heavily on the album, hitting all corners from Launceston to Bunbury and with respected international acts like Brit Frank Turner, Canadians Fucked Up and Americans La Dispute to more love from Rave, Xpress and from Frank himself who said, “It’s official, The Smith Street Band are my new favourites. Check them out ASAP”
Their next album will be titled Sunshine And Technology and was recorded by Sam Johnson at Three Phase Studios and mixed by Matt Voigt (Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, The Nation Blue) at Sing Sing Studios.
Sunshine And Technology will be out through Poison City Records on August 24 and they’ve already booked a national tour with US act Restorations joining them in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra and winding up with the already sold-out Poison City Weekender.
Check out their clip from the studio below the tour dates. Mind the language.
