The Rolling Stones will continue until they can’t play anymore.
The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, 71, talked to Rolling Stone, telling them that he’s not even thinking about retirement. “I’m planning the next set of tours, so the answer is really, “No, not really.””
Jagger and the Stones will be launching their Zip Code Tour of the U.S. on May 24 and have dates scheduled through mid-July, then it might be time for a new album. “It would be very nice and I’ve got a lot of new songs and songs I’ve written over the last couple of years. I’ve done really good demos for all of them, which I would love to record.”
As far as the tour goes, don’t look for Mick Taylor to be coming along again nor does it sound like there will be any complete performances of Sticky Fingers. “We’re floating the idea of doing the whole album. I played it – and it’s a really great album – but it’s got a lot of slow songs. I’m just worried that’s a bit problematic for a stadium.”
He went on to say they do plan on playing a few songs from the album that have been unheard live for many years.
