Country superstar Tim McGraw and eclectic singer Bjork have been named to the 100 Most Influential People by the editors of Time Magazine.
McGraw was not only picked for his music career, but also for his acting career. Pulitzer Prize winner Jon Meacham wrote the magazines essay on McGraw, calling him “a kind of Renaissance man in a cowboy hat” adding that “He moves between genres with the same down-to-earth grace that’s always on display at the Nashville high school football games he never misses.”
Bjork was called “Art’s high priestess” with Serbian artist Marina Abramovic saying that “she teaches us the courage to be ourselves.” She added “As an artist, she’s always on the edge of everything, but it’s not trendy because even when she is working with the latest technology, fashion, images or sounds, she is always offering her own, deeply personal world.”
Like McGraw, Bjork has also acted including her Academy Award nominated turn in Dancer in the Dark. McGraw’s credits include Friday Night Lights, The Blind Side and the upcoming Tomorrowland.
Other music artists to make the list were Kanye West, Taylor Swift and Broadway star Audra McDonald.
