Robert Rigby’s Fanfare Records will document Todd McKenney’s Peter Allen tribute recordings with the release of ‘Todd McKenny Sings Peter’ this week.
McKenney rose to fame in Australia when he played Peter Allen in ‘The Boy From Oz’ in 1998 before Hugh Jackman took the show to international success. He then went on to perform his own tribute show across Australia titled ‘Sings Peter Allen’.
“Peter Allen was such a huge part of my life,” Todd said in a statement. “I still perform Peter Allen live at venues across the country today so to release my latest studio album singing these glorious songs is the perfect way to kick it off really, and its fabulous”.
The album features some of Allen’s biggest hits including ‘Don’t Cry Out Loud’, ‘I Go To Rio’, ‘I Honestly Love You’ and ‘I Still Call Australia Home’.
McKenney is currently appearing in Australia in ‘Grease: The Musical’.
‘Todd McKenney Sings Peter Allen’ will be released through Fanfare on Friday, November 22.
