Despite coming to Australia three times before, Todd Rundgren says he is aware that he has never done his own show and will make up for it on his coming tour.

Todd was last in Australia in February as part of Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band. Before that he was here to promote the songs of Robert Johnson.

For the upcoming Australian tour Todd Rundgren says he will be playing Todd Rundgren. “I haven’t really done what I need to do to consolidate whatever audience there because I would like to be able to continue to tour Australia,” Todd tells Noise11.com. “I am going to be doing what we call a performing arts centre show with my band which includes all the songs that people may have wanted to hear from my past. If we work out how to add something from the new album we will try but the way the new album is going to be presented will be completely different”.

The setlist will cover the entire Todd Rundgren career. “I think we are trying to do a broad stroke thing. I want to give people a good sampling of the stages I have been through without overindulging any particular one of them. The problem is from my standpoint the last time I was there I confounded audience expectations by focuses on what the current album was”.

Tickets for Todd Rundgren went on sale today. Davey Lane will support.
