Record Store Day, normally held in April every year, is getting a mid-year counterpart for the second time with the Back to Black Friday Record Store Day on November 25.
As a special treat for record buyers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are releasing a limited edition live album on vinyl.
Kiss My Amps (Live) will include six tracks from their latest album, Mojo, along with the song Sweet William which was a b-side recorded during their 2008 tour. Only 5,000 copies of the album will be printed for distribution at participating record stores. Included with the album will be a unique special code that will allow the buyer to download the album in High Resolution FLAC or 320k MP3.
Petty said of the release, “The music on this album is the Heartbreakers at their best and we’re always happy to support vinyl and the independent record stores.”
