Tori Amos has taken her classics and turned them into classical for her 13th album ‘Gold Dust’.
‘Gold Dust’ spans the Tori Amos collection with songs like ‘Silent All These Years’ and ‘Precious Things’ and reinvents the sounds using the Metrople Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley.
Some of the songs like ‘Flavor’ are more obscure. Some like ‘Jackie’s Strength’, ‘Winter’ and ‘Snow Cherries From France’ are autobiographical.
“My relationship with all of these songs has changed over the years and they have changed my life. So it wasn’t just about capturing the past it was about realizing that the songs had a new narrative now – 10 or 20 years later than they did when I originally recorded them,” she says.
This will be Tori’s second classical album for German label Deutsche Grammophon. In 2011 she released ‘Night of Hunters’.
‘Gold Dust’ will be released in October.
