Chicago post-rock pioneers Tortoise have announced a full Australian tour for October.
The band were announced as headliners for the painfully hip This Is Nowhere festival in Perth, and now they’ve booked shows up the East Coast as well.
After two decades and six albums, the band have helped define the expansive, all-instrumental post rock sound and are still receiving rave reviews for their mind-warping live shows.
Their most recent album 2009’s Beacons Of Ancestorship, is their most diverse to date, incorporating techno beats and punk dirges into their complex musical odysseys.
Tortoise will bring This Is Nowhere compatriots Grails to Melbourne. Tickets are available from OzTix for every appearance except Sydney, which is through MoshTix.
