Tortoise, Xiu Xiu, Grails, Beach Fossils, HTRK and more have been announced for WA’s This Is Nowhere festival.
The inaugural This Is Nowhere festival feels like a West Coast version of Melbourne’s ultra-hip Sugar Mountain fest, featuring cult international and local acts and an arty atmosphere.
Chicago post-rock heroes Tortoise will appear, alongside Californian art-rockers Xiu Xiu, Portland instrumental outfit Grails, Brooklyn shoegaze act Beach Fossils and LA dream-pop duo Puro Instinct.
Then there are locals The Bank Holidays, the ex-pats HTRK, High Tea, Mayor Dadi, Chris Cobilis, and Somer Love DJs Adam Trainer, Claude Mono and Andrew Sinclair.
This is just part of the first line-up, and there will be an electro dance division, plus buskers and more acts.
It all takes place at the University of Western Australia across Somerville Auditorium, Lawrence Jackson Court and Dolphin Theatre on Sunday 14 October from midday until 10pm.
