Triple J’s Unearthed has opened the fifth National Indigenous Music Awards given unsigned and indie Indigenous acts the chance to perform at the 2016 NIMAs.
The winner will perform at the ceremony of August 6, 2016, receive a $500 performance fee, travel and accommodation and guaranteed airplay on Tripe J and Triple J Unearthed.
To be in the running, artists must upload their songs to triple j Unearthed by Sunday 3 July, with the triple j Unearthed NIMAs winner being announced on Thurs 7 July, as part of NAIDOC Week.
Last year’s winners were Philly and Thelma Plum.
