Australian country star Troy Cassar-Daley has undergone throat surgery in the USA.
Cassar-Daley noticed a reduction in his vocal range on his recent American tour and which he had seen to by Dr. Steven Zeitels, who has looked after John Mayer, Adele and Steven Tyler.
In a statement, Troy says:
Hey friends ,
I hope this finds you all well. Just a short note from me personally to let you know how I’m traveling, instead of just getting a press statement which is below if you want a read. I have had two rounds of vocal surgery in Boston with the amazing Dr Steven Zeitels and the prognosis is very good, I thought the lack of range was just a bit of old age, but the doctor said it looks like a whole lot of hard work and not much recovery time. I told him that’s what we call touring mate! And probably singing through illness which I have done quite a bit in the last couple of years. All in all the hardest part of the healing process has been to be quiet (full vocal rest) which means to shut up and anyone that knows me will know this was going to be tough for me!
So all is good take care and I look forward to getting back to what I do best…..Talk!! Then maybe some singing!!
All the best and thanks Troy
Troy is currently in Boston receiving further treatment. He is taking a six-week rest from performing but is expected to return for his appearance at the Queensland Festival with the Queensland Pops Orchestra in July.
Troy and Adam Harvey will release ‘The Great Country Songbook on June 14.
