The Twilight At Taronga 2016 Summer Concert Series has surpassed expectations with a blend of the best Australian music and the occasional international act.
For the sake of the argument we shall refer to Violent Femmes as “international” now that founder and bass player Brian Ritchie is ab Australian citizen. South Africa’s Ladysmith Black Mambazo will perform during the 2016 season and California based Colin Hay will return home for a show in March.
Courtney Barnett. Australia’s international success of 2015, will play the first show of the Summer Concert Series on January 28 followed by Josh Pyke the following night. Tex Perkins will then play the best of Johnny Cash in Far from Folsom on the third night of the January long weekend.
Twilight At Taronga’s 2016 season features Birds of Tokyo, Josh Pyke, The Waifs, Missy Higgins, John Butler Trio, James Morrison Big Band, C.W. Stoneking and a little Aussie styled Abba from Bjorn Again.
Tickets for Twilight At Taronga will go on sale on October 29 from twilightattaronga.org.au
