UFO is playing a very busy schedule with runs of four and five nights in a row without a break.

The bad side of such tours is a simple illness can wipe out a whole series of shows. That’s the case this coming weekend where a sick member of the band have caused the cancellation of three German festival appearances.

It has not been announced who in the band is sick, with the cancellations announced with a simple Twitter and Facebook post:

Announcement re the July festivals

Due to illness, UFO will not be playing at the three upcoming festivals in July this week.

Fällt aus wegen Krankheit

Cancelled are the band’s appearances at Fabric in Bruchsal on Thursday, Rock of Ages in Seebronn on Friday and Classic Rock Nights in Pyras on Saturday. Their next scheduled show is August 19 at Parkbühne Biesdorf in Berlin.

UFO was formed in 1969 with Phil Mogg the only original member still with the band. The current lineup also has Andy Parker, Paul Raymond, Vinny Moore and Rob De Luca while past members include longtime bassist Pete Way, Michael Schenker, Bernie Marsden, Billy Sheehan, Aynsley Dunbar and Jason Bonham.
