Rapper Urthboy’s excellent new tune ‘Naïve Bravado’ featuring Daniel Merriweather precedes a new album and tour.
Urthboy has long been regarded as one of Australia’s finest, most thoughtful hip-hop stars, solo and as a member of The Herd.
His new tune ‘Naïve Bravado’ has been all over the airwaves, and has been named iTunes Single Of The Week, scoring 30,000 downloads in its first seven days. This is certainly due to his insightful rhymes, the rich production, as well as a killer chorus from soul man Daniel Merriweather.
Now he announces the new album Smokey’s Haunt, which brings together his longtime producer buddies Hermitude and Count Bounce and will be released on October 12.
While polishing off the album, he has booked a national tour with live support from Elgusto of Hermitude and Jane Tyrrell. Along for the ride is indigenous hip-hop act The Last Kinection.
Fellow indigenous rap crew Yung Warriors join him in Melbourne and Sydney, Brisbane rising star Rainman will also appear in Melbourne, Byron and Brisbane. It all finishes up at Newcastle’s Fat As Butter festival.
