Many Beatles fans were taken by surprise last week when a new compilation of rock tracks, Tomorrow Never Knows, suddenly appeared on iTunes.
Enough were interested that they propelled the album to a debut at number 24 on the strength of downloads from just the one retailer.
There is only one other debut by a veteran artist for the week, another Starbuck’s exclusive, Sunset Strip To Haight-Ashbury: The California Scene in the 60’s. It premiers a little low for a Starbuck’s release at number 105.
Last week saw Phil Collins‘ album …Hits jump back on the charts all the way to number 6. It was a short stay as, with the Amazon sale over, the album fell right off the Top 200.
Over on the Dance Club chart, Kylie Minogue has her ninth number 1 track with Timebomb and Madonna is back, looking to extend her streak of dance hits, with Turn Up the Radio.
