Kyle Glover, the step-son of R&B star Usher, passed away from injuries he sustained from a tragic jet ski accident earlier this month.
The 11-year-old – who was declared brain dead after the catastrophe – was taken off life support by medical professionals who deemed his condition too severe to overcome.
Kyle’s mother Tameka Foster “struggled tremendously with the decision,” according to US website TMZ, and is said to be “understandably devastated.”
Kyle was taken to an Atlanta hospital after being struck by a 38-year-old man on a jet ski at Lake Lanier in Georgia while he and a 15-year-old were being pulled along on an inner tube by a speedboat.
The accident is currently under investigation.
Usher was reportedly devastated after hearing the news of his stepson’s condition.
‘He grew close to Kyle and, of course, that has nothing to do with the situation with Tameka,’ a source said at the time. ‘He loved Kyle. This is a terrible, awful tragedy. Usher is torn up.’
Usher and Tameka divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage. They also have two children; Usher V, four, and three-year-old Naviyd.
