Vance Joy ‘Dance Your Life Away’ has debuted in the US chart at no. 17.
Melbourne singer songwriter James Keogh (aka Vance Joy)’s debut sold around 21,000 copies in America to generate the Top 20 placement on the Billboard chart.
The low-profile Australian singer performed better in the USA than the much-hyped Meghan Trainor who sold around 19,000 units in her first week despite having one of the biggest selling songs of 2014 so far with ‘All About That Bass’.
Vance Joy ‘Dream Your Life Away’ debuted at number one on Australia this week with 10,560 sales, just ahead of Jimmy Barnes’ second week of ’30:30 Hindsight’ sales of 10,029 after debuting the previous week with 18,391 sales.
Vance Joy broke in the US, EUK and European charts with his song ‘Riptide’. The song peaked in Australia at no. 5, Canada at 29, UK at 10 and USA at 55. It was also a top 10 hit in Austria, Belgium, Germany and Ireland.
