Veruca Salt surprised fans last year when they announced that the original lineup of the band (Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Jim Shapiro and Steve Lack) had reunited.
The band followed with the news that a 10″ vinyl single was being released on Record Store Day with new music.
The band, which only promised “for now let’s just say this: hatchets buried, axes exhumed”, are getting along well enough to put on an early summer tour that will take them to both costs. The trek starts on June 22 in Portland and runs through July 26 in Boston.
The original lineup was together from 1993 to 1997 when guitarist Jim Shapiro left the group. During that time, they scored two top ten hits on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart, Seether (1994 / #8) and Volcano Girls (1997 / #8).
