As a treat on their current Australian tour with Hall & Oates, Icehouse have performed their 1987 hit ‘Electric Blue’ with co-write John Oates at both the Sydney and Melbourne shows.
This morning, Iva Davies and Paul Gildea took John Oates along to the Channel 9 Mornings studio and performed the song live and acoustic. It was only the fourth time in 25 years John Oates has joined Icehouse on stage to sing the song he wrote with Iva all those years ago.
After the Melbourne show last week John told Noise11.com that prior to this current tour the only other time they ever performed the song live in public was in New York at Madison Square Garden in 1987.
John also revealed on the Noise11.com interview that on that 80s songwriting junket he and Iva wrote maybe three songs together but the other two were awful.
