Country star Vince Gill’s next album will be a mammoth 4CD set or new and original material.
The 43 song album ‘These Days’ will be released on October.
It will feature contributions from Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Diana Krall, Gretchen Wilson, Phil Everly, Trisha Yearwood and Emmylou Harris.
The concept of These Days is to feature the variety of Gill’s styles, ranging from country to bluegrass, jazz and rock.
“I started looking at all these songs I had” he explains in a statement, “and going, ‘Shoot, I want to record that song, and I want to record that song.’ I just kept checking with the other musicians to see if they were available. I had no deadlines, no rules or anything like that. So I just kept trying songs.”
Originally, Gill thought of editing down the song selection to just one disc but was inspired by the multiple albums released by The Beatles in any given year and decided to go with the lot.
‘These Days’ will be instore on October 17.
