Vince Jones To Perform Two Classic Van Morrison Albums

in News

Vince Jones will gather his Astral Orchestra for a series of dates to perform two of Van Morrison’s classic albums in Victoria and New South Wales in March.

The show ‘Van Morrison’s Masterpieces’ will feature the ‘Astral Weeks’ and ‘Moondance’ albums in full.

‘Astral Weeks’, released in 1968, was Morrison’s second solo album. The original album was recorded in New York across three sessions in September and October 1968.

1970’s ‘Moondance’ was a benchmark album for Van Morrison. While ‘Astral Weeks’ struggled to find an audience in its day ‘Moondance’ established Morrison as a solo artist with his first hit album. It has now sold over 3 million copies in the USA and is the biggest seller of his 36 solo albums.

Vince Jones’ Astral Orchestra will be led by Music Director Matt McMahon.

Vince Jones dates

Thursday 9th – Frankston Arts Centre.
Friday 10th – Ullumbarra Theatre (Bendigo).
Saturday 11th – Port Fairy Folk Festival.
Friday 17th – IPAC Theatre (Wollongong).
Saturday 18th – The Playhouse Theatre (Canberra)
