In early 2012, Vince Neil told a number of sources that Mötley Crüe’s days were numbered.
It was right before the band’s first Las Vegas residency and Neil told Robin Leach, “This is all about me thinking about the second half of my life, thinking about my future, and that future might not include Mötley Crüe after Vegas. There are so many opportunities that are in front of me that I’m really excited about. I just don’t want to look back later in life and regret that I didn’t pursue them.” He echoed the thoughts with other news sources.
Of course, the breakup never happened, so who knows if Neil’s latest comments will actually mean anything in the long run. Neil told the Calgary Herald that the band may wrap things up by the end of 2015 after the release of the movie version of The Dirt, a final album and a last world tour.
“Yeah, that’s what it’s looking like, yeah. The movie will come out, we’ll have an album to come out with the movie, and then do another world tour and then probably just call it quits. And just kind of move on.”

“Of course I’ll miss playing with Motley, but I’m not gonna just stop being a rock ’n’ roll guy. This is what I do and I love being onstage. I tried to stop — a long time ago I took a year off and it drove me crazy. I really missed being onstage and stuff like that, so I’ll definitely continue on.
“But who knows? Who knows, the future is — five, six, seven, ten years later — who knows what’s going to happen? In my mind it’s never say never, so we’ll just see what happens.”
