Walter Trout Says Thanks For Transplant

Two days ago (May 26) was the one year anniversary of Walter Trout’s life saving liver transplant and, to thank his fans, has posted a new video message.

Trout and his wife, Marie, talk about the operation and thank everyone for the support; medically, in communications and financially. They also urge people to become organ donors with Trout saying “I’m livin on because of someone else”.

In October 2013, Trout had to cut a European tour short when an examination determined that he had some liver damage. By the end of March, 2014, things had deteriorated enough that doctors told Walter he would need a transplant within ninety days to survive.

As Walter says in the video, that surgery came on May 26, 2014 and, by June 12, he felt well enough to post his first status video where he said “In 2015, I’ll be back kicking butt”.

Well, he may not be back to butt kicking status quite yet but he appears to be well on his way and, on June 15, he’ll take the stage for the first time since October 2013 at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the Leadbelly Festival. Then, in November, he has six dates scheduled around England.
