The West Australian Music (WAM) Festival will be held from November 6 to 8 in Perth, Western Australia.
WAM took on a new look in 2013 moving with the festival and music conference moving to November, adding extra showcases and building a bigger music conference.
“Without being able to give too much away yet, West Australian Music’s been working on some extremely exciting events to bring West Australian music lovers for the WAM Festival this year,” said 2014 Festival Coordinator Greg Sanders. “Continuing to evolve, the 2014 fest will pack more of a focused local music punch than ever before, with the Music Conference stacked with vital industry networking opportunities and big name keynotes, and some amazing, unique live performance opportunities for the best artists in WA – both established and upcoming. I’m extremely happy to be working with the WAM team and can’t wait to roll out the program over the next couple of months!”
A key feature of the new look WAM in 2013 was the bigger awards from from the Astor Theatre and the staging of the Saturday Spectacular.
The WAM Festival has been an annual institution in Perth for the past 20 years showcasing the music and musicians of Western Australia.
Western Australia has produced some of the biggest acts in music including Bon Scott, The Farris Brothers (INXS), John Butler Trio, Eskimo Joe, The Sleepy Jackson, Birds of Tokyo, Karnivool, Eurogliders, Dave Faulkner, Tame Impala and The Triffids.
