Tom Petty has commissioned a work of art for the new Mudcrutch song ‘I Forgive It All’.
Sir Anthony Hopkins is the elderly man challenged by age revisiting his childhood in a poverty-stricken part of town. He drives his classic car from his wealthy area to the poorest part of town where he abandons his car near the hungry and homeless and enters a dingy hotel room to bed forgiveness.
Sean Penn directed the video. Penn directed the movies ‘The Crossing Guard’, ‘The Pledge’ and ‘Into The Wild’ and has starred in some of Hollywood’s most thought-provoking films including ‘Dead Man Walking’, ‘I Am Sam’, ‘Milk’ and ‘Mystic River’.
‘’I Forgive It All’ is from the second Mudcrutch album ‘2’.
Mudcrutch was Tom Petty’s band with Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench and with Tom Leadon and Randall Marsh before Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Petty reformed the band to record their debut album in 2008 and released the second instalment ‘2’ in May.
