Queens Of The Stone Age have released the full 15-minute film based on music from the band’s upcoming album … Like Clockwork, out June 3rd on Matador Records.
The visual interpretations of these various passages, including the full-length video for “My God Is The Sun”, come from the depths of the imagination of … Like Clockwork cover creator and all-around QOTSA collaborator, the enigmatic UK artist Boneface (and were brought to life by animator Liam Brazier). Assembled into the … Like Clockwork narrative, they flow seamlessly in accordance with the laws of their own nightmarish logic.
“Margaret Thatcher’s death?… small fry in the face of the new Queens of the Stone Age album… This is another of Josh Homme’s dramatic rock growls, with riffs that are quite frankly, bigger than the sun.”–NME
… Like Clockwork was produced by Joshua Homme and QOTSA, recorded by Mark Rankin with additional engineering by Alain Johannes and Justin Smith, at Josh’s studio, Pink Duck, in Burbank, California.
Queens of the Stone Age are: Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita and Michael Shuman. Jon Theodore plays drums live (and on the new record’s title track). See below for tour dates, which include an instantly sold out May 23rd underplay at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theater and a handful of new shows. Check back at the following for updates:
