Australia’s Tim Minchin is playing coked-up rockstar Atticus Fetch in Season 6 of Californication.

In episode one of the new season Hank Moody (David Duchovny) and Charlie Runkie (Evan Handler) board Fetch’s private jet for a first meeting. Fetch wants to make Hank’s book into a musical “like Jesus Christ Superstar” Fetch says referencing his previous gig.
Minchin was born in England but moved to Australia as a kid. In 2012 he played the role of Judas in the Jesus Christ Superstar UK tour.
He is not Duchovy’s first Aussie co-star in Californication. Rick Springfield played himself in Season 3.
Marilyn Manson will also star in Season 6 of Californication.
