Weezer have slipped out a new song ‘Mexican Fender’ as a preview of their upcoming album ‘Pacific Daydream’ (aka The Black album).
‘The Black Album’ comes a year after the Weezer ‘The White Album’ and adds to the ‘Green’, ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ albums of years gone by.
‘Pacific Daydream’ could have been called ‘The Black Album’ but as Rivers Cuomo says, “Once upon a time, I, Chuang Chou, dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was Chou. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man”.

The first song from the album ‘Feels Like Summer’ was quietly released in March.
The ‘Pacific Daydream’ album is due 27 October but the tracklisting is yet to be finalised.
