Wilco have two releases planned to mark their 20th anniversary.
The Chicago band will release ‘Alpha Mike Foxtrot’ album as a 4CD set with rare studio and live recordings added to the expanded set.
The second album is ‘What’s Your 20’, a 2 disc best of featuring the bands essential tracks.
The new collections have been produced by Cheryl Pawelski who has previously worked with Big Star, The Band and Townes Van Zandt.
“Like a lot of fans, I had collected these straggling tracks over the past two decades of following Wilco’s every move,” she said in a statement. “Alpha Mike Foxtrot includes almost every unique, essential performance that appeared on soundtracks, tribute albums and B-sides—and there are probably a few surprises for even the sharpest collector. This set presents an alternate history of the band, kind of a sideways view, and ultimately, it’s a super-fun listening experience.”
The two albums will be the first ever Wilco compilations.
Both albums will be released through Warner Music on December 5.
