Michael Scott “Cactus” Moser, the husband of Wynonna Judd and drummer for her band, has had his left leg amputated after a serious motorcycle accident on Saturday.

Moser and Judd were riding motorcycles before a show in Deadwood, SD when Moser reportedly went over the center line and ran into the side of a Chevy Malibu coming in the opposite direction. Police say that Moser nearly severed his left leg which doctors determined had to be amputated above the knee.
Moser also underwent surgery for damage to his left hand although the extend of the damage is unknown. Family and friends hope that he will be able to drum again once he heals.
A statement was posted on Judd’s official website stating that “Judd and Moser appreciate all of the quick medical and police responders as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends and fans.”
