A Wazza Jones hand-painted guitar, signed by Xavier Rudd, is being raffled for the Jamarri Black Cockatoo Sanctuary in Western Australia.
Jones, the well-known Bibbullmann artist, perform and cultural custodian hand painted the guitar with the male and female red-tailed cockatoos.
Jamarri is Western Australia’s first and longest running Cockatoo sanctuary. The sanctuary was operated by Dee and David Patterson who started Jamarri 26 years ago from their property near the south-west forest known as Helms. The decades the Pattersons have been rescuing, caring and rehabilitating the Black Cockatoos before returning them to the wild.
In January 2015 David passed away leaving Dee to carry on the work. However, the sanctuary is now being torn apart by logging
Funds raised from the raffle will support the continued work needed for Jamarri.
The Spirit Bird raffle will be open until April 6, 2015.
