Actor/Director Zach Braff has put the call out to Alec Baldwin to replace Demagogue Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
The White House Correspondents Dinner began in 1921 as a scholarship benefit for gifted students to attend college journalism programs.
15 Presidents have attended the dinner starting with Calvin Coolidge in 1924. Up until 1962 the dinner was for men only. President John F. Kennedy refused to attend unless the rule was dropped.
In the 95 years since the event began rarely has it been cancelled. It didn’t happen in 1930 because of the death of former President Taft, in 1942 because of World War II and in 1951 because of global uncertainty.
In 1981 Ronald Regan could not attend after being shot in an assassination attempt but he still phoned in to the dinner.
Trump is not attending because he is simply staging a childish tantrum over his war with the media.
The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

Braff’s suggestion for Alec Baldwin to replace Trump as Trump is brilliant.
.@AlecBaldwin time to suit up. https://t.co/DfVnzAYxSG

I watched parts of @nbcsnl Saturday Night Live last night. It is a totally one-sided, biased show – nothing funny at all. Equal time for us?
