ZZ Top’s first five albums, released between 1971 and 1976, will be released as the vinyl box set ‘Cinco’ in July.

‘Cinco’ begins with the debut album from 1971. The album stiffed worldwide, achieving its least worst result in the USA with a peak at no. 201.

The second album ‘Rio Grande Mud’ didn’t do much better. It got to no. 104 in the USA but Australia also joined on (probably because there was a song on the album called ‘Bar-B-Q’) and gave the band their first Top 100 figure peaking at no. 90.

The third album ‘Tres Hombres’ is where the ZZ Top success started to really kick in, with thanks to the hit song ‘La Grange’. It reached no. 8 in the USA and no. 36 in Australia.

‘Fandango’ in 1975 delivered another ZZ Top classic in ‘Tush’. It peaked at 17 in the USA, 72 in Australia and then Sweden activated with a peak of 21.

The fifth and final album in the box is ‘Tejas’ reached no 24 in the USA, no 100 in Australia and no 19 in Australia.
