Queensryche are continuing to forge forward with their new lead singer, Todd La Torre, who replaced Geoff Tate after the infamous group blowup in 2012.
When Queensryche “fired” lead singer Geoff Tate in 2012, it started an all out war that included two different versions of the band, one led by Tate and one led by the rest of the members of the band fronted by Todd La Torre.
As Geoff Tate and his version of Queensryche embark on their final tour under their original name, he has made the decision to move forward with his band under the new name Operation: Mindcrime.
Geoff Tate’s version of Queensryche may have rushed their new album, Frequency Unknown, to the market a little too fast in their quest to get the set out before one from the competing version of the band.
Randy Gane, keyboard player for Geoff Tate’s version of Queensryche, is recovering from a heart attack, which he suffered on December 26. His condition is currently unknown.
Geoff Tate has fired the latest salvo in the battle with his old band, Queensrÿche, by saying that he will take his own version of the band on the road under the same name.
