Former BBC Radio One DJ Andy Peebles has died at the age of 76.

Australian writer, author and multi media man Graham Simpson passed away on 16 February 2025 at age 69. He was one of the funniest friends I knew.

Double J was a Sydney only radio station when it first went to air at 11am on 19 January 1975. The first song played was Skyhooks ‘You Just Like Me ‘Cos I’m Good In Bed’ chosen because it was Australian, it was rebellious (because the song was banned at the time which reflected the rebellious image of the station) and being part of the ABC was not subject to the licencing laws of the commercial radio stations.

Longtime 2 Double J music director (and later Triple J) and the man credited with creating the original character of then Sydney radio station Arnold Frolows has died at age 74.

Sammy J has left his low rating ABC breakfast program undefeated against even lower rating radio program Kyle & Jackie O on KIISFM in Melbourne.
