Ringo Starr inadvertently has his late Beatles bandmate George Harrison to thank for his new country album.

Ringo Starr has played his first ever show at Nashville’s historic Ryman Theater with the announcement that proceeds from the show will go to the Red Cross for those effected by the California wildfires.

Richard Perry, the legendary producer who worked on albums for Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, Ringo Starr, Leo Sayer and Carly Simon, has died at the age of 82.

Ringo Starr joined Paul McCartney for the last show of the Got Back tour for 2024 in London 19 December and so did Ronnie Wood. Sir Macca also performed his Christmas classic ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ for the first time since 2018.

Ringo Starr has followed in the footsteps of Beyoncé and her ‘Cowboy Carter’ record by finishing a country music album titled ‘Look Up’, which is due out on 10 January.

The George Harrison version of ‘Sunshine Life For Me (Sail Away Raymond)’, a song George wrote for Ringo Starr’s ‘Ringo’ album over 50 years ago, is available as part of the 50th anniversary edition of George’s ‘Living In The Material World’ album.

I thought Ringo Starr was done making albums. At least that’s what he said when he started to release his series of EPs in 2021 but all has changed and Ringo has a new album ‘Look Up’ on the way.
