Tom Petty Reactivates Mudcrutch

Tom Leadon, the guitarist for Tom Petty’s original band Mudcrutch, and the brother of Eagles’ former guitarist Bernie Leadon, has died at the age of 70.

Former Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell will be concentrating on his own band The Dirty Knobs in 2020.

Tom Petty ‘The Best of Everything really is everything. The new compilation will include Petty with and without The Heartbreakers, with Mudcrutch and with Stevie Nicks and it will contain two previously unreleased songs.

Tom Petty has commissioned a work of art for the new Mudcrutch song ‘I Forgive It All’.

Mudcrutch was Tom Petty’s band before Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. When they broke up in 1975 Petty formed The Heartbreakers.

Tom Petty's short-lived early 70's band Mudcrutch was resurrected in 2008 to release their first and do a brief tour. In May, they will released their second set and will promote it on a longer tour of the U.S.
