As lead singer of Culture Club Boy George defined a sound of the 80s with the combination of R&B, pop and reggae.
The first three albums ‘Kissing To Be Clever’ (1982), ‘Colour By Numbers’ (1983) and ‘Waking Up With The House On Fire’ collectively delivered 10 Top 40 hits. Songs like ‘Do You Really Want To Hurt Me’, ‘Karma Chameleon’ and ‘Church of the Poison Mind’ are pop classics.
Culture Club disintegrated around 1986 as fast as they rose to fame. They reformed in 1999 and released a fifth album ‘Don’t Mind If I Do’. A sixth album ‘Tribes’ has been recorded by remains unreleased.
