Post-Madonna and David Bowie, indie rock curio Butterfly Boucher returns with her third solo album and renewed spirit.
Butterfly Boucher has had a turbulent career since leaving Adelaide, moving to the US, being courted by Madonna’s Maverick label, duetting with David Bowie on the Shrek 2 soundtrack, being left in cross-Atlantic record business limbo, and finally loosening up.
Her third, self-titled, independent album is a rebirth, seeing her get as goofy and left-field as she wants to be, trading tunes with Missy Higgins (whose new album Boucher produced), and rediscovering her child-like side.
Check out our chat, as well as a performance of her new song ‘The Weather’.
