Daryl Braithwaite celebrated 40 years since his first Sherbet hit ‘Can You Feel It Baby’ in early 2011. Over his career he has clocked up 35 Top 40 hits between Sherbet and solo.

In the 70s there was that never-ending debate – Sherbet or Skyhooks. Apparently it was forbidden to be a fan of both bands so fans had to choose.

In the 90s the career kept growing. He had a number one album with ‘Edge’ in 1989 and more hit songs with ‘As The Days Go By’, ‘All I Do’, ‘One Summer’ and ‘Let Me Be’.

In 1991, the ‘Rise’ album went to no.3 and generated even more hits with ‘Rise’, ‘The Horses’ and ‘Higher Than Hope’. ‘The Horses’ has gone on to some sort of God-like status with women 25-35 these days.

Daryl’s latest release is his first ever live DVD. ‘Live’ features songs spanning his career from Sherbet’s ‘You’ve Got The Gun’ and ‘Howzat’ to his own ‘As The Days Go By’, ‘Higher Than Hope’ and ‘One Summer’.

It’s been a long career and Daryl Braithwaite has a lot to talk about with Paul Cashmere at Noise11.com.
