Don Powell was a founding member of Slade. Today he is still active with new music from the Don Powell Band.
For 2024 the Don Powell Band have gone both Country and Rock with two versions of ‘Deja Voodoo’.
55 years ago Don was a young drummer in Ambrose Slade releasing their debut album in a year that opened with Frank Sinatra at number one in the UK and ended with The Rolling Stones on top.
They were crazy days. Don was playing on bills with Cream and supported by Robert Plant. He has recorded at Abbey Road when The Beatles were in the next room.
