The new Elvis Costello album ‘The Boy Named If’ is named after an imaginary friend.

Elvis Costello created the album with a limited-edition book package telling stories based on the lyrics of all 13 songs.

In his 2022 interview with Paul Cashmere at Noise11.com, Elvis Costello discusses the inspiration for the album and how in some ways in a live sense, it draws comparisons to the early Elvis albums.
