Joe Satriani is up to album 19 with ‘The Elephants of Mars’. That’s not counting is supergroup collaboration Chickenfoot or G3 albums.
Joe has a few Australian links. Firstly he toured Australia with Mick Jagger in 1988. His ONLY vocal recording as backing vocals on the first Crowded House album and this new album features Australia’s Rai Thistlewaite (Thirsty Merc) on keyboards.
I first interviewed Joe in Sydney in 1988 when he was in Jagger’s band on that only ever Jagger solo tour. It was a pleasure to look into his eyes and hear what is behind, not only the new album, but his last 40 years.
