After a break, country star Kirsty Akers sells her house, goes independent and gets ‘Naked’ on her third album.

Aussie country prodigy Kirsty Akers has found her independence for her new album Naked. She attempted a ‘normal life’ following her first two albums on a label (trying her hand at regular jobs, shock horror) but the music kept dragging her back.

So she sold her house, financed her first fully-independent album, and found her own voice. Check out her story of kooky recording tricks, the “bra-burning” revelation of the album, duetting with Bob “Kevin from Jebediah” Evans, getting Prince’s cover designer, and more.
