Ralph McTell’s first album was a baptism of fire for not only him but P Plate producer Gus Dudgeon and another first timer Tony Visconti arranging the strings. Gus went on to produce Bowie’s ‘Space oddity’ and the early Elton albums. Tony took over as Bowie’s producer for almost David’s entire career.
Ralph’s early days with Gus produced the hit song ‘Streets of London’. Ralph has since had more than 50 albums and a career for sometime as a Children’s television host, which generated more albums and at least 80 more songs.
The legend Ralph McTell will tour Australia again in 2024 for maybe the 14th time. He spoke with Noise11’s Paul Cashmere.
