Actor, writer, director, political wonk, and larrikin Rhys Muldoon adds a new title: children’s music performer.
But his debut kids’ album I’m Not Singing ain’t no whistle-clean Wiggles. It’s grubby and funny and maddeningly excitable, co-written with Kram of Spiderbait, with a rough-and-ready guest spot from Tex Perkins of the Beasts Of Bourbon and the Cruel Sea.
Muldoon came in to talk about the jittery ditties on I’m Not Singing, his Play School persona, Noni Hazlehurst’s scandalous reading of Go The F*&k To Sleep, Perkins’ angry footy dad character, and whether this album is not just for kids.
